Just A Glob (Alpha)

Just a Glob is a 2D arena roguelite in which you play as Glob, an adorable yet lethal warrior made out of toxic goo.  Run, dodge, and shoot your way through waves of enemies to clear out the arenas and free the city of Blighthaven.

Glob has an ace up his sleeve as he can mutate his body parts offering a variety of unique mutations. Mix and match mutations to form countless builds, offering diverse ways of approaching each run.

Progress through the rounds to fill up the 'DNA vat', and interact with it once it's full. When activated, you can choose from a random assortment of Head Cards, Body Cards, and Arm Cards. 

Each section of his body offers a unique upgrade:

    - Head offers offensive abilities

    - Body offers defensive abilities

    - Arm offers projectile weapons

Once you own a mutation, every time you interact with the vat again you will be given the choice between selecting a new mutation to add to the build or upgrading one of your current mutation cards. 

You will spawn back in this room every time that you lose a run. The Hub currently offers a single NPC, an upgrade station, and a level selection with only 1 active door.

The NPC is called N.E.D, a friendly robot that will explain to you in more detail about the mechanics of the game and give you some advice on how to play.

The upgrade vat at the center of the room offers you the chance to permanently upgrade some of Glob's stats by spending DNA points that you can collect from defeated enemies during a run.

This game is our final major project for our bachelor's degree in games design, as our team is composed of four undergrad students.

Although this game was produced as a project during university, we have developed a strong passion for it. We are planning on developing the game further with the intent of achieving a full release in the future.
